Canceled TV Shows Revived Online (Kidnapped, Smith, etc.)

There's something of a trend recently regarding canceled or on hiatus TV programs: they're going online. The big networks are putting up entirely original content, leveraging the growing number of viewers of their online TV platforms. Some have even gone the route of making unaired episodes available for purchase on Amazon.com or iTunes.

Two canceled shows I noticed are the crime dramas Kidnapped and Smith. So if you're a fan of either, you can see how their stories play out over the next few weeks. It looks like only the latest episode of Kidnapped is available so you'll want to catch it before Saturday rolls around, and a new one takes its place.

If you want direct links to the other networks' streaming video portals, check out my earlier post on watching full TV episodes online legally.

On a sidenote, the most popular outgoing link on Digital Alchemy goes to NBC Video. Must be a lot of Heroes fans. If you're one of them, NBC has several online extras for you: Hiro's blog and online comics that extend the story every week.
